Staff Information
Dr. Tirado practices with physician assistants and nurse practioners. They are licensed and certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia to treat Internal Medicine related diseases.

We also have medical students and physician assistant students who rotate through the practice as part of their Internal Medicine outpatient education. The staff is bilingual in Spanish and English.

 Billing Policies
 
Co-payments are expected at the time of service. Administrative discounted fees are available for those patient paying in full at the time of service. Services not covered by insurances will be billed to the patient. Please be informed with respect to your particular insurance's covered services and deductables that may apply.
 
After Hours Care

 
If you have a life threatening medical emergency, please call 911 and have Dr. Tirado contacted. For other urgent medical matters call the office number (703) 556-9318 and follow the instructions. The on-call doctor will be contacted. We ask that routine medical matters such as prescription refills, lab results or appointments be handled during regular business hours, 9-5 M-F and alternating saturdays 9-12.

Referrals
 
Referrals to specialists are required by some insurance carriers. Emergency or same day referrals will be done when necessary and may require a visit with Dr. Tirado.

Routine referrals may be called into the referral line and will be processed within 3-5 days. Please be sure to have your referral prior to meeting a specialist, so as to insure that you will not have reschedule your appointment due to the lack of proper paperwork.

Prescription Refills

We ask that you allow 48 hours for routine prescription refills. A vist with Dr. Tirado will be necessary for refills of certain medications.
